5th July 2008 Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 17+ Surf / Sea State: Big Air Temperature: 21 Sea Temperature: 15 Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 26 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 33.7 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Had breakfast at the dip with Mag-raining with big shore dump.Met old friends Neil and Linda Hurrell had a good chat in their camper,in no hurry go go sailing!!! Then at dinner time the sun came out and I rigged 7.5 on the xantos but by that time the wind had eased so rigged 8.5 on the carve.Had abit of a beat down the coast with Dolphin Paul which was abit of a struggle in the big sea and the strong tide.Luckily we turned before the fludgers and returned to the dip as the wind increased!!! A switch to the xantos with 7.5 but that felt odd in the strong wind and big sea,but as the tide went down the sea calmed down alot and I had a really good last hour even though I was overpowered most of the time,but I think I would have struggled to keep up wind on smaller kit.Still a good 2hrs 57 mins out sailing with a couple of people I had'nt sailed with for ages. |
